Building the systems that let our team do its best work — from team assembly and sponsor outreach to operational coordination.
My name is Jun Jie Yeh. I'm a student at Kang Chiao International School, Xiugang Campus, and I represent our team in the Global Innovation Build Challenge as Head of Operations.
I joined GIBC because I wanted an experience that pushed beyond the classroom — something collaborative, challenging, and genuinely constructive. GIBC demands more than ideas. It requires execution, coordination, and the ability to hold a team together when things don't go according to plan. That is the kind of challenge I set out for, and that is what I intend to deliver.
As Head of Operations, my job is to build the systems that let our team do its best work.
Identify and reach out to potential members, assess what each person brings, and ensure the right combination of skills and personalities
Draft and send professional correspondence, explain the concrete value of support, and work toward partnerships
Weekly focused meetings, progress reviews, priority alignment — keeping the team productive and adaptive
Identifying strong candidates across disciplines
Ensuring every member knows their tasks
Building relationships that elevate the team
Productive weekly alignment sessions
Flexible structure for when plans change
Trust, communication, shared purpose
I believe strong communication and clear organization are what separate good teams from great ones. My goal as Head of Operations is to create a structure that keeps us on track while staying flexible enough to adapt when things don't go as planned — because in a competition like this, they rarely do.
