CODE OF CONDUCT

GIBC V2

Preamble

GIBC V2 is committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone — regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), technology choices, or academic background. We value the participation of every member of the community and want all participants to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

This Code of Conduct applies to all GIBC V2 spaces — including the competition platform (Devpost), Discord server, email communications, judging sessions, online workshops, the closing ceremony, and any other GIBC-affiliated events or communications channels.

Expected Behavior

  • Treat all participants with respect and dignity.
  • Use welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Be collaborative and open to constructive feedback.
  • Respect differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Accept responsibility for mistakes and learn from them.
  • Focus on what is best for the community as a whole.
  • Follow the submission guidelines and honor the competition rules.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Sexual language, imagery, or unwelcome advances of any kind.
  • Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, and personal attacks.
  • Publishing others' private information without explicit consent.
  • Plagiarism, cheating, or misrepresentation in project submissions.
  • Spamming, self-promotion, or solicitation unrelated to GIBC.
  • Any other conduct that could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional or educational setting.

Enforcement & Consequences

The GIBC organizing committee is responsible for clarifying and enforcing the Code of Conduct. Violations may result in consequences determined by the committee, including but not limited to:

  • A verbal or written warning.
  • Temporary or permanent expulsion from the competition.
  • Disqualification of the participant's project and forfeiture of any prizes.
  • Reporting to the participant's school administration in severe cases.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior — or have any other concerns — please report it as soon as possible. You can reach the GIBC organizing committee at gibc.official.team@gmail.com. All reports will be reviewed and investigated promptly and confidentially.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all GIBC V2 participants, organizers, judges, mentors, sponsors, and volunteers in all official GIBC spaces — online and in-person — and extends to interactions on Devpost, Discord, email, and any other platform used for GIBC-related communication. Participants are expected to comply with this Code throughout the entire competition period (July 11 — September 28, 2026) and at all GIBC-affiliated events thereafter.
