I am driven by a constant balance between intense physical discipline, creative storytelling, and analytical problem-solving. At my core, I am a competitive athlete. Years of advanced Taekwondo training and heavy strength conditioning have not only led to high-level competition and awards, but they have also instilled in me a profound appreciation for human mechanics. Pushing my body to its absolute limits became the foundation for how I understand movement, performance, and resilience.
That understanding of physical dynamics flows directly into my creative work. While my early interest in photography was rooted in the technical math of a camera, my athletic background naturally pushed me toward high-action, physical shooting. Whether it is hanging from ropes to capture tree-climbers in the mountains of Yangmingshan or framing the perfect split-second action, I approach the lens as an extension of movement.
Beyond extreme sports, I also use visual storytelling to drive social impact. I founded a senior fitness brand designed to actively challenge societal stereotypes about aging. Partnering with a local long-term care association, I use my photography to capture authentic, empowering stories of older adults, highlighting their ongoing strength and vitality.
When I step off the mat and out from behind the camera, my focus shifts to code. Fascinated by the strategic, "Moneyball" elements of game theory, I spend my downtime working in Python and R to build predictive algorithms that analyze sports performance. Using ice hockey as a prime example, I model which positions and ice zones yield the highest scoring probabilities, translating dynamic physical play into actionable data.
Ultimately, my work across all these disciplines is connected by a single thread. Whether I am competing in a tournament, capturing a high-stakes photograph, or analyzing complex data, my focus is always on decoding and elevating human performance.
